ABOUT THE PREMIER WINE AUCTION OF THE SILICON VALLEY
Launched in 2014 by the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Education Foundation and the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association, the Silicon Valley Wine Auction showcases the diversity of the valley – from a long and storied history in growing local wine to a social and business ethos that champions world-class education. Now in its fourth successful year, the Silicon Valley Wine Auction has raised over $2.5 M to support innovative programs, initiatives, and activities benefiting children in our community.

COUNTING ON SUCCESS
ALEARN SILICON VALLEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION
This results-driven program brings a new clarity and confidence to kids who’ve been drowning in math class. Your gift gets results: A 2015 study found eight graders more than twice as likely to hit benchmarks in algebra after completing Elevate Math. Not only does the curriculum, established by the ALearn Silicon Valley Education Foundation (ASVEF), sharpen skills and blow away math anxiety, but it exposes teenagers from low-income families to careers that require and reward math skills.
COACHING TOMORROW’S TALENT
49ers STEM LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
Only 2 percent of Santa Clara High School grads qualify for top-tier STEM colleges. Your support can change that. The 49ers’ institute is a six-year program that gives academically talented students more than 300 hours a year of rigorous, lively STEM workshops and mentoring. There’s now a FabLab at Santa Clara High, with 3-D printers and fabrication machinery. And 60,000 kids a year visit the STEM lab at Levi’s Stadium, tackling STEM in the context of sports.
EDUCATING WITH EXPERIENCE
OXFORD DAY ACADEMY
Help launch a charter school for students who’ve fallen three or four grades levels behind in East Palo Alto schools. Using one of the world’s oldest and most successful educational methods, the Oxford Day Academy tutorial, students start their day with chess and study astrophysics, design mini wind turbines, practice drumming, gather real-world experiences. The education’s tailored to each student’s needs, interactive, and global in its reach.
STRENGHTENING TEACHING WITH TECHNOLOGY
KRAUSE CENTER FOR INNOVATION MERIT PROGRAM
Teach teachers, and you increase your results exponentially. The Krause Center of Innovation researched the best way to use and translate the latest tech in the classroom. Now, with your help, the premier MERIT program (Making Education Relevant and Interactive Through Technology) is sharing that expertise, offering teachers more exciting content, livelier methods, and more creative ways to reach their students. Strengthen their skills, and you strengthen the economy for all of us.
